THE LUMBER MILL
We got a call from a wonderful lady with an odd request. Her family owns a lumber mill and she wanted to provide us the lumber to make a kitchen/bar in her basement. She absolutely loved natural finishes and wanted the wood grain on display throughout the cabinetry. We came up with a design she and her husband loved. The doors were spalted maple but we designed and made walnut handles to contrast the light maple doors. We also located a large claro walnut live edge slab to create a waterfall bartop for the bar seating area. This bar/kitchen put nature on display with tons of natural wood figures and natural defects to create amazing visual interest with only a clear coat on all the cabinetry. We also made some interesting vanities for the bathrooms in the basement. They are made from walnut and sapele. Each one of the three has a different style to display the wood in different ways.
